ORANGE BEACH & GULF SHORES INSHORE FISHING
Fins and Family Fishing's Orange Beach inshore fishing charters feature great saltwater fishing action in mostly calm, protected waters. Our Orange Beach inshore fishing charter are great for most ages and skill levels and there is no better way to introduce new anglers to saltwater fishing than an inshore fishing charter. We consider inshore fishing best with children ages 5 and older and adults weighing less than 300 pounds. Most comfortable for groups of four of fewer, the boat can accommodate groups as large as six people. Our private, family friendly inshore fishing charters are offered year round and feature rates to fit most any budget. Our laid back Orange Beach Inshore Fishing charters focus on fishing in the protected waters of bays, bayous, lagoons, passes and coves. Action packed and always fun, our inshore fishing charters are a great way to spend quality family time.
Our Orange Beach Inshore fishing charters offer the opportunity to catch awesome saltwater fish such as Black Snapper, Redfish, Speckled Trout, White Trout, Black Drum, Sheepshead, Flounder, Pompano, Spanish Mackerel, & more. All Fins and Family Fishing inshore fishing charters feature a light tackle approach since many of the fish we pursue inshore tend to be smaller species. But make no mistake all species are tough and there are also a few big ones inshore mixed in as well. While it does not happen every day, we regularly catch species that can easily weigh more than thirty pounds on inshore trips.

When inshore fishing in the spring we often focus our fishing efforts on Sheepshead, Redfish, Pompano, Black Drum, and Sea Trout returning to the bays from their winter homes in tidal creeks and rivers. Our Summer season features the greatest variety of fish species that we have for the year and we frequently target Speckled and White Trout, Redfish, Black Drum, Spanish Mackerel, Black Snapper, Flounder, and more. In winter our species are somewhat limited but do include some of our favorites such as Speckled Trout, Sheepshead, Black Drum, and Redfish. We fish for them near the jetties at Perdido Pass as well as in small bays, canals, and up the tidal creeks and rivers where they reside until spring. We often fish styles such as casting live baits or jigs under popping floats, casting artificial scent baits to the bottom, drifting live and dead baits, casting artificial lures and plugs, and free lining live baits. We use these techniques to fish over open water oyster beds, along salt marsh grasses, near bridges and passes, on edges of sand bars and channels, near docks, along jetties, and more. Live shrimp is one of our favorite inshore bait choices but we will also use live Bull Minnows, Menhaden, and more.

Our top rated Orange Beach Inshore fishing charters in summer, and fall are great for those who prefer catching to fishing. Numerous fish species and somewhat easy to execute fishing techniques help us turn inshore fishing charters into inshore catching charters. While not all of the fish we catch are what we are targeting, we can almost always count on a Catfish, Pigfish, or Skipjack to keep our lines tight as we wait for the Speckled Trout, Redfish, Flounder, Black Snapper, Pompano, White Trout, and Spanish Mackerel to bite. While our seasoned saltwater anglers often prefer not to catch bi-catch species, these additional species are good to help young and inexperienced anglers learn our ways as they bite early and often.
All of Fins and Family Fishing's Gulf Shores and Orange Beach inshore fishing charters feature our awesome 25 foot 2019 Sea Hunt BX25BR. She is loaded with features which include ample padded seating, front and rear casting decks, twin 10 foot Power Poles, and state of the art trolling motor. She is powered by a Yamaha 300 on a jack plate and she will comfortably take us to the areas that we like to fish.
Four Hour Inshore Fishing Charters are our most popular inshore fishing time frame for experienced adults and are generally best for adults and families with kids ten and older or who fish regularly. In the heat of the summer we recommend most four hour inshore fishing charters be taken in the mornings with our typical departure time being about 45 minutes before official sunrise but we do take them in the afternoon on occasion. We choose the early time frame for this length trip because it is the coolest part of the day, the morning bite is often the best, and it benefits us to be one of the first boats on the water so we get our choice of fishing locations. Which fish species we fish for and how we pursue them is impacted by the recent bite, the number of anglers in the group, the tides, wind, weather, and the overall fishing experience of our guests. Our four hour Orange Beach inshore fishing charter groups often fish for Redfish, Speckled Trout, Spanish Mackerel, Black Snapper, White Trout, Flounder, and Black Drum. Our winter and spring four hour trips are taken in the morning, mid day, and afternoon and the timing is more focused on tides and weather than on temperatures. Similar to our summer and fall fishing, the group size and experience level greatly impacts what we suggest we fish for. Spring fishing charters often focus on the opportunity to catch edible species such as saltwater fish such as Redfish, Sheepshead, Black Drum, Sea Trout, Pompano, and the occasional Flounder.
Three Hour Inshore Fishing Charters are commonly offered during the late morning and afternoon during the summer and fall months and are recommended for adults and families with kids eight years old and older. Three hour inshore fishing charters are long enough for us to be able to pursue fish to keep while staying short enough not to consume too much of the day. The fish species we fish for and how we pursue them is greatly impacted by the recent bite, the ages and number of anglers in the group, the tides, wind, weather, and the overall fishing experience of our guests but they often include Redfish, Sea Trout, Spanish Mackerel, Pompano, Black Snapper, Flounder, Black Drum, & Bluefish. In winter and spring our three hour trips are offered throughout the day and the timing is more focused on the tides, wind, and anticipated precipitation than on air and water temperatures. Similar to our summer and fall fishing, the group size and experience level greatly impacts what we suggest we fish for in the cooler months. Spring fishing charters often focus on the opportunity to catch species such as saltwater fish such as Redfish, Sheepshead, Black Drum, and Speckled Trout.
One and Two Hour Inshore Fishing Matinee Special Charters are all about having fun on the water. Our laid back matinee charters were designed specifically to cater to families with younger kids who have little to no saltwater fishing experience. Brief, exciting, and fun, our inshore fishing matinee trips are taken in calm, protected waters only. Our One Hour Inshore Fishing Matinee Special is recommended for families with 2 adults and 2 kids from about 5 years age and up with some exceptions. Two Hour Inshore Fishing Matinee Charters are most recommended for adults and two kids ages 7 and up. While we fish in areas where we often catch highly sought after species such as Redfish, Black Snapper, and Sea Trout, due to the time of day and the lack of experience of our anglers our main focus is having fun catching anything that will bite. Our matinee groups commonly catch interesting species such as Pigfish, Catfish, Ladyfish, Pinfish, and Croakers but you can never rule out an incredible Redfish. Speckled Trout, White Trout, Black Snapper, or Black Drum. Since the focus of our Inshore Fishing Matinee Specials are families having lots of success by catching anything that bites these trips are highly recommended to be catch, photograph, and release.
